World's Fastest Hybrid Truck Vs a Ferrari [video]



A drag race between a Ferrari 360 Spider and a Volvo big rig sounds pretty one sided, but this isn't just any big rig. The "Mean Green" was built by Volvo and features a twin turbo 16 liter engine good for 1900hp as well as a 200hp electric motor.

The company created the truck to be the world's fastest hybrid truck and from the looks of this video they are well on their way to claiming that title.

Lola-Drayson all electric prototype partners revealed


Lola Group and Drayson Racing Technologies (DRT) today announce at the 2011 Cenex LCV event at Rockingham, UK, further detail on the groundbreaking Lola-Drayson B12/69EV all-electric prototype.

The major partnership between Lola and Drayson to build an electric powered LMP (Le Mans Prototype) car was announced in July. Today, both Robin Brundle, Managing Director of Lola Group and Lord Paul Drayson, founder and Chairman of DRT release the names of the technical partners for the project and what each of the six technology companies will be contributing and developing.

The official partners and suppliers on the B12/69EV are:

AUDI QUATTRO ON FESTIVAL

AUDI QUATTRO NEWAudi, which formally began life as a car manufacturer on July 16 1909, wheeled out its �stars and cars� as part of its Centenary celebrations.

The German manufacturer has supported the annual motorsport extravaganza for the past 13 years and fittingly was the �featured marque� at this year�s �True Grit � Epic Feats of Endurance� themed event attended by 150,000 spectators over all three days.

Ultra-rare Auto Union Grand Prix cars, all-wheel-drive Audi quattro rally and touring cars, plus its latest diesel-engined Le Mans sportscars � documenting over 70 years of motorsport involvement by the Four Rings brand � were in action up the 1.8-mile hillclimb.
