Official: Lamborghini will build the Sesto Elemento, CEO says

Lamborghini CEO announced in an interview that the Italian manufacturer will produce the Sesto Elemento supercar in a limited edition of just 20 units, each priced at 1.5 million euros. According to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the deliveries of the Sesto Element are set to start in 2013 and the car will be produced at the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. Apparently, the car will be just as exclusive as the Reventon, which was produced back in 2007, manufactured in a limited edition of just 20 units, each priced at 1 million euros.

So, you can take the Sesto Elemento as a successor of the Reventon. Moreover, Winkelmann said that another reason to produce the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is that the carmaker made it a goal to produce its concept cars.

For those who don’t know, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento was introduced back in 2010 and was powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine delivering 570 hp, the same engine found on the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale. The big surprise about this concept was that it had a total weight of just 999 kilograms (2,202 lb) and it was capable to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.5 seconds and had a top speed of 200+ mph (320+ km/h).[via : 4wheelsnews]
